Bug in IDML document (2)

Hi,

As you can see in Case 1.png, first 2 paragraphs have the same text style. When I want to change the first paragraph Case 2.png with another style that has certain number of words formated with "Initial Words" , those words become enormus.

1. If I change the number of words in paragraph style, up or down (it doesn't matter), everything is fine.
2. If I change the number of words in a paragraph pannel, up or down (it doesn't matter), all the words are still enormous. Even if you change the style and manualy set the number of words.

There is a problem with "Decorations" with IDML opened file if they are set in text styles, but work fine if you manage them through "Paragraph" panel.

BTW, did you see the comment about decorations?

Sorry I missed that. What's the problem with decorations?

They can't be changed/controlled within the text styles, only from paragraph pannel.

(In IDML file, too).

I can't replicate this.  Can you please create a new post with steps/instructions for this new issue?

1. Open the attached file (an IDML file saved as Publisher format).
2. Go to p. 105 and click on paragraph with decoration.
3. Edit that text style (55 Citat).
4. Try to remove any of the decorations, change the stroke width, change it to arrows... It doesn't work.

But, if you try step 4 from the paragraph pannel, everthing is OK.

Thanks. Even though I can replicate, I've only just realised you've attached an Afpub file and not an IDML file. Can you attach the original IDML file please?

I've just downloaded your file and had a look.

Same problem as in my other comment (regarding the table of contents).

If you delete all the overrides by clicking on the T icon next to the style in question at the top of the panel you will then be able to edit your style in the Paragraph Styles Panel.

We have made fixes/improvements to this area (Initial words in IDML files do not import correctly) of the program in the latest release.

The fixes and how to update are described in these forum posts.

We would appreciate you checking that this issue has now been resolved for you.

 

@Petar Petrenko Your other issue "Decorations in IDML file doesn't import correctly" is caused by a difference in the way we treat decoration, and you have to reset the paragraph to the text style for the changes to appear.
