Aff23
Hello, I've just tried to import an .idml file which isn't working correctly... The problem I'm facing is the following: I've created a rectangle in Indesign which has 89x67,5mm (1pt line) in dimensions. If I import it to Publisher it changes it's values to 88,6x67,1mm (1pt line). It looks like Publisher uses the middle of the lines to measure and Indesign uses the outside of the line. (See attached screenshots) Is there a way to make Publisher also use the outsite of the line instead of the middle? The behavoir mentioned above deformes my design (Think the dimensions are just wrongly converted because of this fact) Regards Aff23
RichZep
Hi @Aff23 and welcome to the Affinity forums. I had to read your question a couple of times as I am a bit perplexed. My question to you is why are you making a rectangle in Indesign and then importing it into Publisher? They are the same made by different companies. Why not just use one or the other? Aff23
It's not only the rectangle which I imported. It is a completely designed ad for an magazine. Designed in Indesign in the past. Now I want to change a few small things and tried to do this with Publisher. Sorry for not posting this essential detail 😀
RichZep
OIC. I don't know on this one but I would image you are unable to change it. Why would you? It's just the way the software developer has decided this function should work. I used to use Indesign and now Publisher and I am unable to think of a work-around for your problem. Aff23
Found the solution. You can find the setting if you edit the line width. Under "Align" >> "Align Stroke to Inside".

However, this is a remedy for an incorrectly executed import, which should not change the stroke alignment. This should be reported as a bug.
