Placing Excel doc crashes Publisher

Very interesting. I created a stripped down version with just 2 cells, and it still crashes. Did you use any app to generate this? Or is all created from scratch in Excel?

Sorry I can't be certain as a client supplied. I can ask them tho and hopefully they'll fill me in. First time i've had a need to import Excel so never seen the issue before.

I also tried copy/paste in Excel into a new doc, resaved and tried again. Still crashed so there's definitely something in there that Publisher disagrees with!

I opened it in LibreOffice and saved as xlsx after changing the fonts to Courier. No problem importing that file with the exception that all the numbers from Page and Price disappeared. I should say all the data ie the pound sign was gone too.

Edit: A closer look shows all the cells formatted/containing only numbers were cleared out. Page, Code (if it is numbers only) and List Price

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4
Affinity Designer 2.4.0 | Affinity Photo 2.4.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

I tried it as well and is crashed immediately..  If you save it as an Open Office XML Spreadsheet (.xlsx) (saved via LibreOffice) it doesn't crash AP.  Page is empty and List Price is empty.  It is clearly an AP issue...

I was going to try the xlsx document saved as an ods document but for some inexplicable reason AP does not recognize od(x) documents...

Just like we did with Adobe, we also dumped Microsoft Office and moved to LibreOffice.

I hope the Affinity roadmap includes placing od(x) documents...
