ConnectCreative
As per the title, open a fresh doc, go to File/Place, select a basic Excel doc and Publisher crashes every time. Pub 1.8.3, Mac OS 10.15.4.
Staff Gabe Posted May 21, 2020 Staff Share Posted May 21, 2020 Hi @ConnectCreative I can't replicate this here, so it must be something else to it. Can you attach the excel file in question?

Staff Gabe Posted May 21, 2020 Staff Share Posted May 21, 2020 Very interesting. I created a stripped down version with just 2 cells, and it still crashes. Did you use any app to generate this? Or is all created from scratch in Excel?

First time i've had a need to import Excel so never seen the issue before. I also tried copy/paste in Excel into a new doc, resaved and tried again. Still crashed so there's definitely something in there that Publisher disagrees with!
Staff Gabe Posted May 21, 2020 Staff Share Posted May 21, 2020 If you paste without style and save, it works fine. Must be something with the style of that table header.
ConnectCreative
Ah ok, thank you. I've asked the client where it came from so will wait and see.
Old Bruce
I opened it in LibreOffice and saved as xlsx after changing the fonts to Courier. No problem importing that file with the exception that all the numbers from Page and Price disappeared. I should say all the data ie the pound sign was gone too. Edit: A closer look shows all the cells formatted/containing only numbers were cleared out. Page, Code (if it is numbers only) and List Price Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4 Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
ConnectCreative
Client has come back to me and said that it was created entirely in Excel, latest version. I that helps?!
KC Honie
I tried it as well and is crashed immediately.. If you save it as an Open Office XML Spreadsheet (.xlsx) (saved via LibreOffice) it doesn't crash AP. Page is empty and List Price is empty. It is clearly an AP issue... I was going to try the xlsx document saved as an ods document but for some inexplicable reason AP does not recognize od(x) documents... Just like we did with Adobe, we also dumped Microsoft Office and moved to LibreOffice. I hope the Affinity roadmap includes placing od(x) documents...
