Can I convert the attached to a stroke?

I have the attached icon as an svg file, but I want it to be thinner. Is it possible to do this, perhaps convert it to a stroke so that I can then easily adjust the stroke width like if I just drew a line?

If you remove the fill and set some contour it will look like this ...

... you can then adjust the Contour of those, or in order to have no outline here, you can delete the inner or outer curve nodes via the node tool (select nodes and delete them). After deleting the inner or outer curve shape, you will have what you are after and then can adjust the stroke (contour) size of the remaining curve.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, Matt.

If you open your SVG file in Affinity Designer and apply the ‘Divide’ command to the shape, you’ll end up with three layers: a base layer and two shapes on top which are subtracted from it to create the outline effect. Delete those two shapes and then apply a thin stroke to the remaining shape and set its fill to ‘None’.

Yes, what @Alfred suggests will yield to the same, even easier, you just have to remove fill and adjust contour size afterwards. - BTW contour = stroke here.

If you ‘Divide’ the original shape and discard the two upper layers, you’re left with a single layer which is like the one in @v_kyr’s second screenshot, but instead of having a stroke and no fill it has a fill and no stroke. Removing the fill and applying a stroke gives you an outline shape whose stroke weight you can adjust (and if you want the vertical line between the cuff and the fist it can easily be added).
