Move selection crashes Affinity Photo. When will fix be made available?

Recommended Posts

I purchased Affinity Photo 1.8.3.641 from B&H Photo.  I assume this is not a Beta version given the numbering.

Running Windows 10/64.  When I make a selection and then try to  move that selection the whole Affinity Photo program completely disappears.  When will a fix be made available?

Hello Huertaaj,

The beta should not crash with this recipe. I couldn't tell you when this will be pushed to the retail version but if it is affecting your workflow, I would recommend using the beta. Just be vigilant with saving your work often. It should technically be more stable than retail but regressions can creep in. Also note that files saved in the beta cannot be opened in the older retail version.

Thanks for the info.  What's the procedure for replacing my commercial version with the latest Beta?

Do I download and run and the Beta version which will install ON TOP of the older version?

Do I uninstall the old version first and then run the newer Beta version?

I assume that whatever happens, the valid commercial serial number that I have will activate the Beta version, regardless of the update procedure.

Beta versions run along side the retail. Do not uninstall your retail. When installing it should see that you have a retail version installed, and not ask for a serial number.
