Josie
How do I get rid of pixels around an image like this one? atimetodance.png.afdesign
Wosven
It's really a poor quality image! If you can't have a better one, redrawing the dancer with the Pen tool and typing the text is the solution (if you don't have the font, but know its name, you can search a site that sell it, type the text in the sample area, and put it at high size before taking screen shots, it'll be better and faster than drawing it with the pen tool). debraspicher
Wosven
Another solution would be to use the Pixel persona, add back the black, and pick the colour before using the selection to use Selection > select picked colour (last item on the menu), and refine this selection to get a mask. Adding a second mask with this selection will give smoother edges. Last operation: adding a Channel mixer adjustement, put it in CMYK mode, and go to Black: set it to 0%. atimetodance2.afdesign

Josie
The channel mixer they are all set at 0 percent to begin with for affinity designer using the iPad. So what do I do for the pixelated images so it doesn’t take me forever to figure it out and hours on end? Also all day?
Wosven
If you look at the Channel mixer, each channel is by default at 100% of its own colour. R = 100%, G = 100% and B = 100% It's the same when you put it in CMYK, each one is at 100%. But since we want to hide the Black, we go to the Black channel and put its value to 0%:
Wosven
Don't forget the step about the selection, it's important to get nicer edges. Add back the black background to the dancer. (Add a black rectangle or pixel layer, group them and merge them using the 'rasterize' option. Select the black background with the colour picker In the Pixel personna, select the black using an option similar to Selection > Select from picked colour (I'm on the desktop and my app is in French, but it should exist in the iPad version): Refine this selection and add a mask from this selection (2 masks is better): With 2 masks, the image will look better and there'll be few black around the dancer and text: That's when you add the Channel mixer adjustement.
