Geometry Add issues in AF Publisher

Recommended Posts

Hi hi,

I am having issues with geometry options in AF publisher. When I add normal shapes and forms nothing goes wrong. Yet, when I try to add different text boxes together to create more interesting text boxes for in my documents... AF Publisher just completely shuts itself down. I think this might be worth looking into, as it at least is quite an annoying issue.

Thanks in advance!

Greetings,

Nick

Confirmed on Windows 10 in Publisher 1.8.3.641.  Same with Designer 1.8.3.641 and Photo 1.8.3.641.
Draw two Text Frames, select both, choose menu “Layer → Geometry → Add”, and the application crashes without any error message and is no longer running.
Not expected behaviour, from a user perspective. I would definitely call this a bug.

Same behavior on macOS 10.14.6 if both text frames are empty (no text in either one). Otherwise, no crash & the frames are combined into a single Curves layer -- text is converted to vector shapes, no longer editable as text, & has no stroke or fill color.

Same behavior in all three Mac 1.8.3 apps & the 1.8.4.651 APub beta.

All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.4.1 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7
Affinity Photo
1.10.8; Affinity Designer 1.108; & all 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.7
