Dynamic data for attributes in a standard letter in affinity publisher

Is it possible to design a label or a standard letter in affinity publisher with different attributes retrieving the content of the attributes dynamically,  

for example from a word or excel file?

Affinity Publisher doesn't have any database or merging features yet as the developers would like to get more of the base features completed. As development continues these maybe included in future updates/version but no eta on when, sorry.
