estram Posted May 14, 2020 Posted May 14, 2020 hi all, I'm working on a brochure and publisher says that there are missing fonts in certain areas of the document. When I go to the font manager, it finds the missing fonts, however, it finds the same font in other areas of the document. For example, the font manager dialogue box says: Name: Open Sans Status: Missing Substitution: Arial Substitution Style: Regular _ Name: Open Sans Bold Status: OK _ Name: Open Sans SemiBold Status: Missing Substitution: Arial Substitution Style: Bold When I click on the Open Sans font family in the drop down menu under 'Substitution' (where it says Arial), it reverts it back to Arial. This happens on a windows PC but doesn't occur on my colleagues Mac. How can I fix this? Quote
kenmcd Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 It sounds like you collaborated on this document with another user on a Mac. Is that what happened? Which version of Open Sans are you using? And your collaborator? Where did you download the fonts? OpenSans.com, or Google Fonts, or SoftwareReviews.org, or ??? Version number(s)? Mixing the different versions could result in confused applications. The originals from OpenSans.com and the versions from SoftwareReviews.org have very different naming internally. These different versions could be seen by an application as different fonts. Or the application could just be confused (which may be what is happening here). Would it be possible for you to upload the APub document? Quote
