Search all missing links at once

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Could be great to have a checkbox when relinking missing files to search in the same directory than the first file relinked in order to automate this process for every other missing files instead of having to relink all of them one by one when we just change the directory name or move it on the disk.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

The function is already available, but probably not as you expect. When you Open a file which contains Linked files that are missing, you get a popup with three choices: Yes, No, and Resource Manager. Choose Yes (not Resource Manager). Using that approach when you locate the first file any others in the same directory will also be found.

It would be nice if the Resource Manager could also do that, as it has a nicer interface.

I have a .idml file that I opened in Publisher and it seems this tip doesn't work but I think its because it says I don't have permission to access the files. Which I don't believe is the case in Indesign. It doesn't stop me at any point. Also in the case of the tip mentioned above I expected all files to update once I pointed one of the missing links to the right place but instead I get the attached prompt for every image that has me locked out. Hope this makes sense.
