Jeff LH Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 I could swear that earlier versions of Affinity Designer (like most other graphics software) had 2 modes of selecting objects by clicking and dragging the Move tool. In one mode (1), all object encompassed or touched by the selection box became selected. In the other mode (2), only the objects entirely encompassed by the selection box were selected. If this is still the case, I can't remember nor find how to switch between the 2 modes. Right now Designer is operating in mode 1. My preferred use in graphics software is mode 2. Can you please help? Quote

Jeff LH Posted May 12, 2020 Author Posted May 12, 2020 I've been running with that box unchecked. Check marked or not, Designer is only selecting in mode 1. Is this a bug, or is something else wrong? Quote
carl123 Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 It works fine for me and can't recall any report of it not working Do you have the capability to upload a small video, showing your preferences setting (as in above dialogue) and then you trying to make a selection? Jeff LH Posted May 12, 2020 Author Posted May 12, 2020 It appears I'm having trouble with the diagrams. The diagrams are SVG outputs from an industrial UML type of diagramming program (MagicDraw). The diagrams are very large, particularly because all text is rendered as SVG graphics. The larger diagrams get close to 100MB. I know that software also has some problems even making PDFs of its own diagrams. So I think I better check with them. Thanks for your help. Quote
