Hi there!

Completely new to Affinity Designer and vector tools in general so I apologize up front if this is somewhat absurd/basic. Here's a screenshot of what I'm trying to achieve: https://imgur.com/a/A6Y5Nqa

Essentially, I want to close the second (non-closed) curve, using the existing zig-zag pattern of the first curve. The reasoning for this is to be able to use the fill functionality of the curve. I figured there would be a simple way to do this other than making sure the second curve's lines align with the first in order to make a "perfect" fill.

Let me know if there's a better way to go about this!

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forums.
There are probably many ways to do this depending on what you want to do with the shapes afterwards and how much work you want to put into it.
I would suggest that you look at the Help for the Node Tool (experimenting with the Join Curves functionality, and others) and the Geometry functionality (menu “Layer → Geometry”), experimenting with Merge Curves.
The number of things you can do with these tools/functions is very large so it would be difficult for anyone to explain them all.
The ‘best’ solution would depend on exactly what you wanted to do afterwards.

You could simply put the second object below the first so there is an overlap instead of a perfect butting together. See the Layers panel in my screenshot.
