This does solve the problem not being able to use Davinci Resolve. It is not very likely to see an Affinity video editor at any time soon. It would be much better to look for an alternative that is already available. This is not only my personal assumption but was also posted by an Affinity representative: Cheers, d. There is nothing to go on here other than what they have done with Photos, Designer, and Publisher which are an entirely different field. I think the real reason people want this is they want a cheap video editor. There is no shortage of video editors for every platform already. I don't think the market is dying for another one.
