Need to switch to an earlier version of Aff.Designer

Recommended Posts

Since the last mac update, and Affinity Designer's 1.8 update (don't know which is causing what, to be honest),  the software crashes when opening anything. Plus, the screen blanks and flashes with my desktop image distorting in all sorts of ways... very disturbing to say the least.  I LOooooove Aff.Designer and really need it to work from home in these troubled Covid-19 times!!  So I'm desperately searching for an earlier version to download, I the hopes it will not bug as this one does. Maybe my computer is too old for the new 1.8 version?

THANK YOU in advance to all who can help!

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

If you purchased from the Mac App Store, you cannot downgrade.

If, however, you purchased from the Serif Affinity store, you can download earlier versions from https://affinity.store/update/macos/designer/1/

I don't know the proper procedure to downgrade, but if I were trying I would delete your current version before installing the new (older) one. I do not know if you will lose custom brushes, presets, etc. that you may have installed in doing this.

And if you delete the app anyway, why not try to reinstall the current version to see if it solves your crashing problems?
