PaulDean
Good Morning, Looking for some guidance. I have an image with a leafy tree in the foreground and a very bland sky in the background. (See attached image.) I want to replace the sky with another image. The problem I have encountered is selecting all the sky that is showing through the gaps between all the branches and leaves. I either get too much or not enough. Any suggestions? Thanks...
mvichos
have you tried flood select with various settings of tolerance ? or perhaps you could use color select and add further levels of sky color by adding to your selection. an other idea is use the select highlights option. your photo is a bit complicated for such selection indeed. My Strawberry Monkey
Hi Paul, First of all the image looks blotchy, so may cause some complications. As for the selection, if you select the main part of the sky then hold down the alt key and add to your selection with the parts that are showing through the tree, personally I would replace the main part of the sky then use the clone or inpaintng brush to fill in the small parts of the sky coming through the tree.
