AP asks for saving twice

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I think AP asks twice to save if we close the image too fast and the first operation wasn't finished.

Steps:

  • Open a huge JPG image
  • Convert to another colour profile
  • Save (ctrl+s)
  • Close (ctrl+w or click the "X")

> If the task isn't finished, the app asks to save the document. (It's only a problem when doing it fast, while taking screenshots to reproduce this, I took more time before steps and there wasn't any warning since the save operation was finished, I suppose)

Perhaps it needs a warning "à la PS": "Can't close this document while it's saving" or similar % information about saving progress in the name's bar.

You get it when doing Ctrl+S immediately followed by Ctrl+W?

Yes but not always immediately

I wasn't sure about what cause this, since on other huge works there's the progress window and I'm less in a hury.

And I had difficulties to reproduce this with the exact same files, unzipping them again in another folder to change again the profil.

@Rick G Do you have any idea about why it's happening? And did it happen (so much) with older versions?

Ctrl+w or clicking on the [X], since at first I thought it was the save operation that wasn't done or the shortcut, but each time the [modified] disappears, meaning the file is already saved. When it happens once, you think you've done an error, but half the files, it's a bug.

I should have been clearer. Sorry.

The important point I attempted to make was that you did Ctrl+S, then nothing else before pressing Ctrl+W.

When it happens again:

  1. Click Cancel, to stop the application from closing.
  2. Check that the tab still does not show "Modified".
  3. Look in the History panel to see what the last recorded action was.

I'm converting profile on different files, I don't close the app, only the image once processed.

That's the whole subject of my post, with the screenshot showing the [modified] don't appears after saving once.

The history doesn't record actions like "save", the last one was "Convertir les couleurs", as expected.

Only Windows asks me to save if I try and close the document tab before it finishes saving. On macOS, nothing happens.

A subset of us are getting this behavior sometimes even getting "save flattened" twice
