Crystallee
I am using the workbook and have a question. On Page 139, I followed the instruction and hid "Panther sketch". On my screen (attached), what I get seems wrong? Mine shows the panther and all over, are the very teeny squares? I'm totally new to Affinity. Thank you for the help. markw
Hello Crystallee, This is nothing to worry about now at the start of your journey into vector and digital graphics! Those tiny squares covering the background indicate the empty and therefor transparent areas of the background. If you exported the image now in a file format that supports transparent areas, such as a .png file, those areas would remain transparent. When a new document is created you have a choice as to whether you have a transparent background or have what is effectively a prefilled white background. Though with this exercise it really doesn’t matter much. But if you really want to change it you can open Document Setup > Colour > and un-tick the Transparent Background box.
