EYBTM Posted May 7, 2020 Share Posted May 7, 2020 Hello, AF is very new to me, however the thing I found that is missing for me the most is my ability to dynamically convert a layer to a smart object (or embedded placement as you call it) from the layers list. The reason I need it badly is that I need to have duplicates of the same instance and when I update one I need it to update every other instance, for example after I retouch a layer of a product image/render sometimes I need to have another version of the same base layer but with a different color. Usually the client sends feedback and the i need to update everything so with instances it is very easy. sometimes i do not know what will need to be an instance and what not so this is why i need it with a simple right click. I don't mind it will be a just an instance/symbol that isn't an external file, I just need the ability to edit it once and for it to take action globally on all the instance. I know that even today I can do it by using "place" but it is not very comfortable to isolate the layers in a different file and then re-import it...
