photoshop1.0
When importing an IDML with spreads that are not "facing pages" but are two adjoining regular pages, Publisher converts those spreads into larger single pages. That is, if you have a spread of pages 2 & 3, Publisher will convert those two pages into one wide page. Additionally, if you had automatic page numbering enabled in InDesign, Publisher will not retain the proper page numbers, but will instead number both sides of the combined "spread" as page number "2" (as opposed to "2" appearing on the left page, and "3" on the right). This issue alone will prevent me from being able to switch completely from InDesign to Publisher, as I would have to manually reconfigure all imported IDMLs which use spreads that are not "facing pages". fde101
This is not really an import issue so much as a limitation in Publisher's concept of spreads. Currently, Publisher only supports single-page spreads and facing pages spreads of exactly two pages each. Also, they cannot be mixed within a document: either all spreads (except the first and last page if the first page starts on an odd page number and the last is even) are facing pages or none of them are. As a result, if you have spreads in your InDesign document which do not conform to these restrictions, Publisher has no way of representing them accurately in an imported file, so it has to do *something* with them and you get the results you indicated. Before these will import cleanly, Serif will need to improve their ability to handle other types of spreads.
