Publisher styles - Show where they are used

Recommended Posts

Hello, is there a possibility that Publisher shows me the text where a certain text style is used? I have the problem that even with a brand new document, even if only font size is changed from 12pt to 11pt, each time of every little chang, Publisher adds Textbox 1, 2, 3, 4,... and does this with each style element and creates a lot of scrap. Many thanks.

You can do that using the Find and Replace studio panel (also available via Text > Find...). But first, make sure you've looked in the Text Styles studio panel at least once.

In the Find ane Replace panel, click on the "Formatting" cog on the right of the Find box. Then click on Character Style or Paragraph Style and select the text style you want to find. Then click the Find button.

Hi Walt, many thanks for that hint. And first looking in the Text Style studio is worth a lot. Otherwise it only shows some basic styles.

Would be cool to have this functionality on the right click menu when clicking on a style in the Text Style studio.

You're welcome.  And you might want to post your context menu suggestion in the Feature Requests forum. But if you do, make sure to refer to text styles, not just styles, in the title and in the post :)
