DavidGef
Just simple cropping of an image seems to elude me. Please help.... (I love Affinity.) If I click on the crop tool is sets me up to crop the canvas, and wherever I look I can't find an option to crop an image within my canvas. I I select the image, I can't see how to crop it. The help says select the crop tool and then in the context tool bar select your needs... but there is no selection there for an image cripping. Please, help. What should I do? Thank you. walt.farrell
Also, which Affinity application are you using? Cropping is different in Designer and Photo. It sounds like you want a vector crop, which is a Designer function. If you're in Photo, and wanting to crop an element of your canvas, you need to use the rectangle tool, draw a rectangle, and clip the element you want to crop using the rectangle. The applicable Help for that is the Layer Clipping topic. telemax and Alfred 2 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro, version 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. iPad: iPad Pro M1, 12.9": iPadOS 17.4.1, Apple Pencil 2, Magic Keyboard Mac: 2023 M2 MacBook Air 15", 16GB memory, macOS Sonoma 14.4.

Old Bruce
3 hours ago, DavidGef said: Sorry for copying screen 4 times... I didn't know how to delete copiess... I find that if I place the text caret after the image (it is hard to see where it is so hit the space bar a couple of times to move it away from the image) and hit the delete/backspace key the image is deleted. Psenda's advice will remove all copies of that placed image from the upload. Yes, if one image has been uploaded and copied to the text four times. However, if the image has been uploaded four times and then inserted four times into the text, only the extra unnecessary files will be deleted in this way. Johnny Bones
I have used crop tool many times. With update, it does not work. All I get is the move icon (cross) no grid, no nothing. No response. Loss of function.

Which application (and release) and which Persona in the application? Can you give us a screenshot of the complete application window while you're using the Crop Tool? wimbledon boy
I can see I am not alone in being frustrated by the Affinity Designer cropping method. Why can't it be made a more simple operation, as in Photoshop? I often switch to Affinity Photo for the cropping operation when it suits. When I try to crop the canvas by going to Document Setup the menu is completely different to that on Youtube videos with half the headings not even highlighted on my imac running on Big Sur. Any help appreciated
