Hello,

Is there a way to get the size of irregular shapes objects in Affinity Designer. For a rectangle or a circle it is quite easy to calculate. But I would sometimes need it for an irregular shaped object.

If it is not possible, can you build in into it @serif :)

Cheers & thank you,

Sebastian

Welcome to the forums.

What do you mean by “size”? Area, total length of the curve, or something else?
Also, shapes can have ‘holes’ in them.
If you are measuring the area of a shape, would you want to subtract the area of the ‘holes’ from the area of the enclosing shape, or not?
If you are measuring the length of the shape, would you want to add the length of the curves that make up the ‘holes’ to the length of the enclosing curve, or not?

Also, what do you mean by “shape”?
What about shapes which consist of multiple curves?
What about compound shapes which consist of multiple shapes? Do you want to measure the total area/length or just the resultant (visible) area/length?
For instance, what would you measure in my attached example?

I think you need to be a lot more specific about your requirements.
