Refine selection tool issue - preview disappears

Hi,

new user here so probably doing something wrong but I can't figure it out. 

When using the refine section tool the preview drops out and I have to cycle in and out of the tool to see the selection. Makes refining the selection very awkward and frustrating. See videos.

Tried locking to GPU only, make no difference. Checked memory usage and not topping out. Happens on jpeg & tiff.

Hi Tom,

I'm not sure what's going wrong here. Can you screenshot the Preferences > Performance window for me so I can see what your settings are?

I'm not sure if you have metal compute enabled/disabled but it might be worth toggling it and trying again.

Having same issue, tried toggling metal compute on land off, makes no difference

macbook pro, 13 inch 2019 2.4ghx quad core intel core i5.  macOS. 10.15.4

Would you have a file that you could attach that is in this state? Could you also save the file with its history (Save History with Document) from the File menu.

Typically, after having had this problem on and off for a few weeks (possibly since last update), when I tried to recreate it on a file to send, everything works ok today. Sorry I am unable to send anything to look into at the moment, If I manage to recreate problem in the next few days I will add to thread.

I am having exactly the same problem. Does not matter which colour overlay I use. It disappears after one or two refining clicks.
