psiclone
We really desperately need a better object selection tool, not the kind where you're selecting the object, but one where the you're creating a selection marquee from an object. In Photoshop it was/is simply selecting the object and Ctrl clicking the object layer, but this doesn't appear to work that way in Designer, despite the help claiming it does. I tried selecting a hoop-shaped object I made and no selection marquee appears. I suggest this be consistent across Affinity products. lepr
Switch from Designer Persona to Pixel Persona and then ctrl-click (Windows) or cmd-click (macOS) the object's thumbnail.
Ollie Hardy
I am having the same issue. In PS it is relatively easy to drag a rectangle over a subject, from which PS makes an assessment as to what should be kept. You can even use a lasso to quickly draw a very vague and lazy selection around an object in PS, and it will again make an assessment of what should be kept, Is there an equivalent in AP or AD?
