Rick Haberman
I am trying to print a six page booklet, two sided on 8 1/2 X 11 paper. Publisher wants to print the front and back covers on two separate pages. How do I correct this?

As that's not common (and doesn't make much sense either) unless there are some extremely special tasks required (i. e. special coatings). But even then, printing services usually need both pages (first and last) being lay out as one sheet. A standard booklet can't have 6 pages. It's always a multiple of 4. In your case, I guess the inner cover pages are blank? So, you'd have to add them (insert one page after the first page and another before the last page of your document - leave them empty). In most cases it's better to send a PDF (with the correct amount of pages) and let the printing service deal with arranging the imposition. Rick Haberman
I am printing it at home on an HP OfficeJet Pro 9025. I have set up the pages the same way I set them up in MS Publisher where they print properly.
Andy05
Maybe MS publisher adds blank pages to the cover's back automatically when printing. I don't never worked with that program, so that's just a guess. But as I stated above, it's not possible to print a booklet with 6 pages. The page count has to be a multiple of 4. There are plenty of information about booklets, reader spreads, printer spreads and imposition in the web, i. e. here:https://www.formaxprinting.com/blog/2016/11/booklet-layout-how-to-arrange-the-pages-of-a-saddle-stitched-booklet/ Quote »A designer's job is to improve the general quality of life. thomaso
What pages exactly do you expect to become printed on what sheet? Note your total number of pages is 6 - to make the booklet print work properly use a total page number divisible by 4. Or take a look to the Affinity print "book" option (not "booklet"), which works different. wonderings
As Andy said, it cannot be 6 pages. It can be 4 pages, it can be 8 pages, 12 pages, etc. We would suggest adding a blank page to the inside cover and blank page to the inside back cover. You are banging your head on the wall and it will never work with 6 pages without you adding 2 more blank pages. So for your document make page 2 blank and page 7 blank. Back cover should now be on page 8.
Rick Haberman
Thank you! That worked. This is my first try at using your program. I have a lot to learn.
Andy05
😄 Which is what I suggested to do in my first post already... 1 hour ago, Andy05 said: In your case, I guess the inner cover pages are blank?
