Hi guys, I'm looking to buy a new laptop mainly for use with Designer, as my my previous was struggling to handle the software and would occasionally lag out. My budget isn't crazy and I don't really want to go spending more than £300.00.

Cheers

Welcome to the forums.

This is probably a tricky question to answer as every laptop will be different.
A quick look at PC World’s website shows plenty of laptops below your maximum spend that could, technically, run the software as they meet, or go beyond, the requirements: https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/designer/full-feature-list/
However, it will be difficult for anyone who doesn’t own one of them – or has use of one – to say whether it will be good enough for what you need to do with it.
Even if you told us what sort of work you wanted to do it would be difficult for anyone to give recommendations.

It might be better if you asked something along the lines of: “I want to do <this sort of work>. What’s the lowest spec’ machine that you have been able to comfortably do that on?”
That might give you an idea of what sort of machine you need.
