Publisher: how to save printer settings for the document

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm using the extended trial period to use Publisher for some projects and I've just noticed that it does not save the printer settings with the document.

In my setup I have a laser and an inkjet printer; the laser is set as default system printer as I usually print my documents there.
The document I'm preparing on Publisher includes images that I want to print in color, using my inkjet.
When I print the document I change the printer in the dialog and set the proper paper, etc.

Then I make some modifications to the document and when I try to print it again I have to set all the printer parameters once again.

I searched on the forum but cannot find a clue.

Is this a bug or a planned feature or is there a way to save the printer parameters within the document so that, the next time I print, I don't have to set them again?

Thank you!
Ugo

Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums.

Have you tried saving a print profile? I know the print dialog is different on Windows (which I use) than on Mac, but that function might be available there, too. I'm not sure exactly what settings are saved, but perhaps it would help you. I have used it a few times but I am not sure exactly what is saved. But to try it, if it exists on Mac, get everything setup the way you want it, then click the Save As button to save a new profile. Then specify that profile the next time you print.

thank you for your prompt answer Walt!

I cannot find that option on the Mac, but I know for sure Photoshop saves the print information with the image so I guess it is "simply" a matter of implementing it :)
