Big Tree
I'm using MacOS High sierra and Publisher 1.8.3 I'm experiencing text formatting problem which relates to hyphenation in Korean. Korean (as many Asian languages) does not normally need hyphenation. So I set none to hyphenation in Character panel and deselect auto hyphenation in Paragraph panel. I also select "Korean" in spelling and typography. Then I was expecting that the words in text should break (letter by letter) in lines. But it does not break in lines like western language without hyphenation being activated. Chinese and Japanese seem to doing fine on this matter. I'm attaching the sample that is made by one of forum members. ashf and Mark Y
ashf
Addition to Big Tree said, left alignment should work and justified alignment shouldn't be required . Any of East Asian language(except Mongolian) should just break lines at the right edge of text frame. Whether if it's middle of a word doesn't matter. Mark Y
Is this going to be fixed in Affinity Publisher? I bought Affinity Publisher thinking this would work, but I can't get this to work in Korean. We really need this feature in Affinity Publisher! Otherwise it's close to useless in publishing in Korean... This was reported last year in April, and after a year, it's still an issue. Please! Have someone look into it. If this was a open source project, I would have got onto it already and would have fixed it by now.
