Welcome, @yvette!   I posted the entry reproduced below in response to another new member’s query several days ago, but hope that it may help you too.   The written and well illustrated “Jump into Affinity Photo” should really help you get started.   Then the excellent video tutorials will make a lot more sense.   James Ritson is most definitely an expert!!

In this time of pandemic, when work has shut down for so many in the graphic arts world, I wonder why there is not ONE tutor for Affinity products of any kind.  As of this writing, a Google search will not reveal any tutors for Affinity Photo.  If you try searching for Photoshop tutors you will get a dozen recommendations in 1/2 second.  I am very surprised no one is willing to leverage their knowledge in AP for money.  Yes, there are some good tutorials but there is no substitute for one on one training.   Just curious.

There you have totally wrong!

Not especially hard to find lots of instructions videos on Youtube (as an example)...

Affinity Revolusion, InAffinity, Digital Fearless, etc etc...

Also,  Serif Labs (the software company behind Affinity Suite) has aldo a lot of thing on their homepage...

Yvette and Greg are talking about a tutor who does video chat sessions, probably including screen sharing.

Thank you Errka for your reply.  Tutor and tutorial videos are NOT the same thing.  The English definition of tutor is:  "a person employed to instruct another in some branch or branches of learning, especially a private instructor".   All I was saying, is that it is very odd not ONE person is willing to make money personally teaching Affinity products.  I would be curious to know why?  Thanks to anyone who can give insight.

All I can do is guess but one possible reason is those with an interest in teaching others have decided their time is better spent creating courses they can sell online for more money than they could make if they devoted the same amount of time to teaching individual users one at a time.

Another is that they might not think it is practical to tutor anyone remotely for various technical reasons or because of personal preferences.
