bbrito Posted April 25, 2020 Posted April 25, 2020 I’ve just purshased Afiinity Designer, but, I’ve wonder that it does not display corretly MathType equations like Corel Draw does. In tha same way, it does not export WMF file. I’d like to copy and past equations from MathType to it, then export a WMF file to Powerpoint.

I have MathType 6.9b and used it for a simple test and did not have problems first exporting an equation from MathType in .wmf format, then importing it in Affinity Designer, exporting in WMF and EMF format, and finally inserting in a PowerPoint file as pictures: The EMF version could also be converted from "picture format" (actually grouped formatted text objects) to an editable object so that text can be edited but parts of the equation are then lost. The WMF version also showed the problem that is typical in Affinity exports, ligatures (like "ffi" in the word Affinity) getting replaced with question marks or boxes. But the EMF version behaves just fine. I have noticed that at times MathType equations might contain minor errors when exported (either EPS or WMF), but these can typically be fixed in (e.g., I use Illustrator for EPS exports; Affinity apps cannot import MathType EPS equations, but you should be able to edit WMF equations without problems). Note too that you can copy paste both Word and MathType equations directly via Clipboard to Affinity apps, but you must use Edit > Paste As and then pick (preferrably) the EMF format. Thanks so much for your help. I meant that Affinity Designer imports the equations erroneously. I have MathType 6.7h for Mac and it does not export equation in .wmf format (now I know that it is not compatible to Mac). When I try to copy and past MathType equations directly via Clipboard, Affinity displays them erroneously like the image below. Edited April 26, 2020 by bbrito
