Delete Center Line

Recommended Posts

Very new to Affinity. I tried searching the help files & this forum but am unsure exactly how to describe in textual terms what I want to do. Please forgive me my stupidity.

In the attached file image I began by creating 1/2 the face then I duplicated it and flipped it horizontally. Then I successfully combined the two halves but as you can see there is still a line between the 2 faces. How do I get rid of it? I tried using Subtract from the Geometry menu that is grayed out (see the second image attached)

Thank you in advance for your patience & willingness to help.

it is clear that your straight line is not vertical as it gets narrower at the top., select the bottom node and using a single finger as a constrain on the screen move the node to make the line vertical.

Why does it matter if the line is straight or maintains the same thickness? #SincereQuestion

Can I do that this long after I actually created the image?

Because your shapes don’t overlap, I can just about see a gap at the bottom.

Oh I see. You meant the two lines weren’t actually combined into a single line as I had thought they were.

@IAmFenix I can confirm that you need to use Add (not subtract). If not perfectly aligned you may get a partial centre line. If that happens, just select the line’s end node and delete it.
