Select tool not work on a document created before the update

Recommended Posts

Hi.

I am facing a frustrating issue : the selection tool is not working anymore, or barely.
My document uses several art boards and various graphic elements on each art boards.

I can not simply and directly select any of the elements on any of the art boards with the black or white arrow. To select anything, I have to use the layer palette.

When an art board is selected, I **may** be able to select one or two elements from that art board with the arrow tool. But not all.

Am I missing anything? Did I forget to disable something somewhere?
I am really confused by the bug. When I create a new document with a similar structure, that issue is not there anymore.

Thank you for your advice.

Hi Logicalnot,

Sorry about the delay. I don't believe this is a bug, there was a change made that means you can limit object selection depending on what artboard you've got selected which is what you're encountering.

So for example if you had the Endorse artboard selected then you can only select objects on that artboard with the Move Tool (and others). However you can select a different artboard by clicking its name just above the artboard in the document view. This will then limit you to selecting objects on that artboard instead.

However if you don't like this behaviour then you can enable 'Edit All Layers' EditAllLayers.JPG on the Layers Panel . This will allow you to select any object on any artboard or layer.
