Uninstall and Reinstall Problem

Recently, Affinity Photo started to shut down whenever I want to save the results of focus merging or panorama stitching. I decided to uninstall and do a fresh install, however Affinity Photo won't let me uninstall. So I used a an uninstall utility, Geek Uninstaller, to force an uninstall. After that, I am no longer able to reinstall the program again.

If you continue to have problems, the Setup.log and SetupUI.log files should help.

I run the setup file as administrator but the process failed with a message box "Setup Failed".

Here are the two log files. Appreciate your help.

Thanks. Based on SetupUI.log, I think that the Geek Uninstaller did an incomplete job, and left the application in an inconsistent state.

The FAQ entry that I referenced above also provides information about running the Microsoft Uninstall Troubleshooter. I think that's your next step.

I downloaded and run the Microsoft Uninstall Troubleshooter. The problem is fixed.

Oh but now when I try to create a panorama stitch, Affinity Photo shuts down again!

Do you get a crash report? If so, you could create a new topic in Photo Bugs found on Windows and indicate that you have a crash report in case Serif wants it.

Also, you'll want to be specific about what you were doing, of course

One question: what kind of files are you stitching? On the off-chance that they are RAW files, I recommend Opening each one individually, Developing it, Exporting to TIFF, and stitching the TIFF files. That should give better results than trying to stitch RAW files, and might get you past whatever is causing the crash.

I am stitching four DNG files from my DJI Marvic 2 Pro drone.

I post-processed the DNG files, export them to JPG. Create panorama, get results on screen, click OK and Affinity Photo shuts down.

Thanks. I would definitely post about that in the Bugs forum I mentioned. And please check for a crash report, which will be very helpful to Serif unless this is already something they know about.
