TomSmithNaturePhotographer
I use the live defringing filter all the time. However, I have found it takes a long time to flatten it. Is this a bug or is there a way to resolve this?

Is this a bug Yes, if it takes days No, if it takes a few seconds You're not giving us enough information How long is "a long time", what size of document, DPI, any other live adjustment/filter layers, what spec is your computer? If you want to compare the time it takes other people to flatten your document please upload the APhoto file with the Live Defringing Layer present Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. It sometimes takes 2-3 minutes with a document size of, say, 6000*4000. I didn't have any other filters. I have 4 GB RAM and an Intel Core i5. carl123
Flattening a Live Defringing Layer is going to be a CPU and memory intensive operation and your 4GB of ram is the absolute minimum memory I would want to use APhoto with. If you can upload that document I can let you know how long an Intel i7 PC with 22GB of ram takes doing the same flattening operation At least then we will have a comparison of 2 totally different PCs and I would expect mine to be much quicker but if mine gives the same results as yours then we may have to start looking for other reasons as to why it takes so long.
