Slammer
The ME 109 was a great warbird to fly, but the narrow spaced landing gear made it very difficult to land. I have had a picture of the ME 109- E in the museum in Schleißheim for a while with the idea of doing a ME with the yellow nose. After getting the wirework done and the basic colouring I went ape with sweet sweet perlin noise to give me that grungy look. Squidlet
Wow nice job! Which tools did you use mainly to create this? Would you mind doing a brief rundown of your process? I would be interested to know :)
Slammer
For most part it´s the pen tool in Designer and Photo for the lineart, then color swatches for the basic coloring and gradients after which it´s layers and layers and layers of shading in Photo using the lasso and (I use the German language version) "Randschärfe" translates to "edge focus, perhaps???" for shading I tend to use the "old timey" airbrush technique of stencil and fade. And finally perlin noise, sweet, sweet perlin noise, the most versatile tool in the box. For instance, the "used" look, the clouds and the runway are all done with perlin noise.
