KensonPlays
I had an artist create a bunch of art for my Twitch channel, but I want to create a YouTube thumbnail template with the same font style. Is there a way to replicate this in Affinity Photo? (They used Photoshop, and I only have the PSD for panel images, not this particular image). I have the font installed, I can do the shadow bit, but the rest of the font styling I'm confused on. --
GarryP
We don’t know what the font is so we can’t see what it looks like without the “font styling” that you mention. Would you be able to give more specific information about exactly what you would like to do?
Wosven
It doesn't seems to have any style applied but a gradient with the top half light pink and the top bottom half grey. You can do this with a gradient or clipping a grey rectangle inside your light pink line of text, and add a shadow. Andy05
Just in case, I think that original font is a variant of the Lithos family. It's Lithos Pro Black, slightly stretched.https://www.linotype.com/de/1181/lithos-schriftfamilie.html Quote »A designer's job is to improve the general quality of life. The font is called BD Jurassic Black. 5 minutes ago, Andy05 said: Just in case, I think that original font is a variant of the Lithos family. GarryP
Thanks for supplying the extra info’. In this case I would probably do as Wosven suggests by clipping a grey rectangle (maybe with some transparency to let the pink through a bit) inside the text layer as it will be easier to adjust than using a gradient, but that’s just my personal preference in this specific instance. I’ve attached a short video showing the process. 2020-04-18 09-30-53.mp4 KensonPlays

Add 2 nodes, depending of the colours you need, picking the colour of the adjacent node, for example. Set the nodes at exactly the same position:
firstdefence
The word “CURRENTLY" is a different font. I agree with wosvens technique. Won't be exactly the same but will have a similar feel once I get the colors in. 6 hours ago, firstdefence said: The word “CURRENTLY" is a different font. I agree with wosvens technique. It'll be for the thumbnail's subheading and a small "Kenson Plays" in the corner of the thumbnail. --- Thank you again for your responses. Haven't really used Affinity all that much.
