Nathan Shirley
So I've had issues getting Publisher to display PDFs of sheet music correctly. Many work, but many don't. So I've been using SVGs instead, which so far have been more reliable. However, Publisher, and also Designer, consistently fail to properly display horizontal dashed lines (octave lines). These SVGs display correctly in other software, so I'm assuming this is an Affinity issue. Example attached. Dashed lines should contain much shorter dashes, and many more of them. 031.0 Can you C it (all Cs)_0002.svg
SPaceBar
Hi Nathan, Apologies for the late reply. Can you upload a screenshot of what it should look like please? I still have an incomplete picture of the SVG file here as I am missing the following fonts: Helsinki Special Std Helsinki Std Would you be able to upload them to this folder please? Nathan Shirley
I uploaded a new SVG, a PNG image of it, and the fonts requested. Thanks for looking into it. By the way, Sibelius just made Helsinki its default music font, so there will be a lot more people using this in the near future.
SPaceBar
Thanks the fonts Nathan, I can't see the PNG in the upload folder so can you tell me if this is what you are expecting to see?
Nathan Shirley
Oh strange. But yes, that looks correct. Although the dashes don't look perfectly even (also those dashes look a little too narrow)... let me try that upload again. I'll post a screen shot too. Nathan Shirley
Couldn't quickly find the original example, but here's another which shows the identical dashed octave line (SVG attached as well): Dotted Line Example_0001.svg
SPaceBar
Thanks for the PNG, I have managed to recreate your issue in Designer. I made my PNG from Illustrator so it seems that is not quite getting it right either. What software are you using that displays them as above in your PNG file? I'd like to send screenshot examples to the Dev team of it working as it should along with the PNG file.
Nathan Shirley
The SVGs display correctly if I bring them back into Sibelius (the software used to create them). They also display correctly in Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft's two web browsers, IE and Edge. SPaceBar
SPaceBar
Thanks for all the extra information Nathan. The issue has been logged and I have passed on all the details to the Development team.
