Thank you very much!  :)

I'm still learning the software and that encourage me for further projects.

I switched from Pixelmator to Affinity Photo .

Danke,

Good Morning Rosa,

thank you for the flowers, as we say in Germany. :D

On YouTube, under the video, there is the video description.

I noticed there from where I have the files and how they are called.

The lense flare is a brush from www.brusheezy.com. Search for "Camera + Sun Glare Brushes" by Mark-B. (Royalty Free)

The planet is made by a texture from www.cgtextures.com. It's ice on concrete. Search for "Ice0034_5_L"

 (Royalty Free)

The next tutorial will come this weekend.

And this time, I try it with english subtitles.

Greetings from the very hot Berlin (more than 30°)

Ciao

Jack

You are wellcome!!! W say th same in Spanish!. Not flowers at all...strictly truth.

I was wondering....have you tried in applying a bit of 3d effect on the background. I have done it sometimes in some of my brush texture painting and the result is amazing. Is one of the things that I love so much in affinity...myself always a fan of any 3d digital tool. The depth you get with the effect, and its ability to work with the lighting and applying other color ambiance and so on is really an achievement. Most of the people thinnk that this effect is nice on fonts and lines or shapes of many kinds, Texturizing with a sort of releif is fascinating, But I guess co uld be too much for your grat use of the "ice on concrete" The using of such is original.

I will for aure, follow your tutorials and study the ones you have alredy uploaded.

Thanks again for the links and generosityl

Kind regards fron Bilbao, Spain.

Rosa

Why don't I see the YouTube link to the tutorial?

I experience that in several threads.

I see the Vimeo links though.

Hello Madame,

I don't know.

The YouTube-Link is there. Don't worry! Camouflage because it's top secret, very top secret ( ... was a joke....)

But seroiusly:

It's there as a complete preview windows where you can watch directly.

Others see that too.

Check your Computer Settings (latest Updates done? Flashplayer-Update?)

It's not on Vimeo, but on YouTube.

If it doesn't work:

Search in YouTube for "Affinity Photo - Planet".

The Channel Name: CTU Jack Bauer

So far, the videos are in german, but next time I try englisch subtitles.

Ciao

Jack - I too don't understand much German really (Was in Munich last month and I loved every second of it - and picked up on some easy German words here and there). Also, like Madame, I too do not see a link, but just an empty space.

However, I clicked the "Quote" button on your first post to see if I could see the youtube link, and I did! Copy, paste in my browser and away I went.

Watched both the planet and 3D effect tutorial. I'd love to have English subtitles - if you're explaining why you're doing something (your thought process etc.). Your video is smooth enough that I don't need audio to follow what you're doing.

Thanks for posting these tutorials.

Tschüss!

Jack, my flash player is turned on and up to date.
This is a mystery.

This is how your post looks like in my browser (Chrome)
I will try Safari and see if that helps. I have seen some of your videos before, they are great! :)

EDIT: I can see it in Safari. Odd!

EDIT #2: When I'm logged in, I can't see it in Safari either.

I'm using Firefox and Chrome on a Windows PC at work and the same. Neither show the youtube link in the original post. Same with Firefox on a Mac at home. Forgot to check with Chrome and Safari at home.

Your latest reply does show the link in it. What did you do differently?

While writing, a editor opens. (I think by this website)

There is a tool bar.

In the second row, there is a "chain"-icon for inserting a link.

Then the Url will appear as a direct link.

My first way was to paste the link without doing that.

And then a complete YouTube-Window with a preview opens.

Thank you for that hint.

So I offer both methods.

Hi Jack...

Here are some of the tests I did on this.

Hope you can see it  with clarity.

Rosapost-11788-0-14908800-1438705609_thumb.jpgpost-11788-0-43085300-1438705627_thumb.jpgpost-11788-0-89130400-1438705645_thumb.jpg

I think that on the screen it was more clear. This is done with vector brushes. I think that they can be worked out with a lot of imagination for you can change their shape with the node tool and it is so nice....but the effects, can be applied in both raster and vectorial and this is something that Affinity has evolved with sparkling brains!.

For exaple the spehre of the middle is not so "tri-dimensional" in textures as the other. I will take a look to the flare lenses file, for it is something that I liked a lot in Illustrator.

Could you design them from scratch? May be it is not necessary......mmm....

Ciao....besos.

Hi, Jack. Now I can see the link! Thank you!

I'm trying to copy the workflow, and I think it's very useful; I'm learning a lo! (Not enough german though ;) )

In the end, you put the flare layer behind the globe. I can't replicate that. My layer just clips (clipping mask) to the globe and get invisible.

Hi Rosa,

do you create the vector brushes by yourself? I didn't know them.

I like the 3D-effect.

I'm able to create custom brushes but I don't know how to create the bevel & emboss in AP. I didn't find that function so far.

Greetings

Jack
