Hi,   I've owned Affinity Photo for quite sometime but have only been dabbling, I have studied a lot of tutorials and am fairly conversant with most of the tools and their functions having had some experience with Photoshop and other programs, the thing I'm having trouble grasping is the When and Why  to use certain tools/adjustments during the workflow....I know what I'm aiming for but not sure the correct tools or right way to achieve it.

I'm mainly referring to such things like compositing photos etc. I realize there would be different reasons for taking one approach to the way of doing things with each type of composite you are trying to create.....but if there was a tutorial that explained all this it would be beneficial.

I have also just purchased the Photo Workbook so I'm hoping that this will also help with this info.

Thanks Sandy

@sandie26 if the Affinity tutorials are inadequate to guide you, may I suggest https://courses.affinityrevolution.com/p/retouching-101-purchased.  You may also post specific problems that you don’t understand and I’m positive others, with offer their expertise, will guide you in the right direction. Be Safe.

@Cecil  many thanks for your suggestion.. the develop/retouching part of things is not the main problem for me,  as I said it's more the Compositing,  the tutorials I have watched on compositing are not inadequate as such but they really don't explain the whys of each step .... if I follow along using their photos I'm fine..I can do it ..but then when it comes to using my own photo's I'm uncertain of the processes I need to go through to achieve what I want to put together....I guess you could call it the theory behind the practice/process.....for now back to more tutorials !!😀

@sandie26 Kindle and Apple Books have some excellent ebooks, many offer discounts.  I suggests these if you have a tablet and can use the eBooks, as you work on your Desktop.  Udemy is another excellent tutorial source, Simon Foster.
