MitchSevierPhoto
I am looking for a why to create or quickly fill a layer mask with black. I tried holding various control keys while creating a mask and it always comes filled with white. I made the layer mask visible with by alt clicking it then tried to fill it with the bucket of black and that didn't work. Any suggestions? anon1
alt click on the mask layer should produce a black mask layer This feature is not implemented yet and I don´t know if it´s planed. But that´s the way it definitely should work. I think it would be low hanging fruit! And now as Photo is out it´s definitely the time for such improvements. I have not looked into the Beta - the opacity slider for the layers should be "slidable" like the ones from the brushes width etc. (when you click hold and drag over the name of the slider) I hope this now works with the layers opacity slider. Staff MEB Posted July 24, 2015 Staff Share Posted July 24, 2015 Hi MitchSevierPhoto, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Create the new Layer Mask then press ⌘ (cmd) + I to invert it. Another way would be to select the mask and press ⇧ (shift) + F5 and fill it with the colour you want from the dialog that will appear. anon1
Yes especially the invert thing is also a nice way, although I believe the alt click is equally adequate :)
Staff Andy Somerfield Posted July 24, 2015 Staff Share Posted July 24, 2015 You can do Layer -> New Empty Mask Layer :) Thanks, Andy. MitchSevierPhoto
