JBMauser
I have followed the instructions to load my NIK plugins into the latest version. They all show up when I go to Filters and Plugins. They are all grayed out. here is my screen shot. In older versions of AF they were in yellow with another word I don't recall.
walt.farrell
What kind of image are you trying to use them on, John? Some will only work on RGB/8, and probably all require a (Pixel) layer. Staff MEB Posted April 15, 2020 Staff Share Posted April 15, 2020 Hi JBMauser, Welcome to Affinity Forums DxO Nick Collection plugins support both RGB 8 and 16 bit images with the exception of HDR Efex Pro 2 which also support 32 bit images. If they appear greyed out you aren't working with an RGB8/16 document or you haven't a pixel layer selected. JBMauser
What does "Working" indicate? And green and yellow
Staff MEB Posted April 15, 2020 Staff Share Posted April 15, 2020 Hi JBMauser, The yellow word was "Unknown". We are improving Nik Collection compatibility so eventually they will all end up saying Working in green in both macOS and Windows. Check the type of layer you are working with - make sure it says Pixel between parenthesis after the layer's name in the Layers panel. If it says Image, right-click on it in the layers panel and select Rasterise to convert it to a Pixel layer type. You can then use the plugins as you intended. Check this video tutorial if you want to learn more abut the differences between Pixel and Image Layers. JBMauser
OK, Thanks. I loaded and image in and developed it then moved to the main board and the plug-ins were there and working. Thanks. I have been going in circles with this and did not consider the image specs. Many thanks.
