madrian
Why Clip Canvas is not working in some cases? I removed white background with Fitlers - Colours - Erase White Paper then I am tryingot o Clip Canvas, but nothing happens.
madrian
One more question: is there similar feature in Designer?
Old Bruce
Clip Canvas is a view option. It does not Clip To Canvas. Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.2 Affinity Designer 2.3.1 | Affinity Photo 2.3.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.3.1 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
madrian
If am not wrong, only in Designer is a view option (in Designer View - View mode -> Clip to Canvas). In Photos Document - Clip Canvas -> and it's actually removing empty space around objects, but not for all images (my question in original post). Erase White Paper left a "background" with a tiny % of opaqueness. That's the boundary that's being clipped to. (the eyedropper shows different values for the checkerboard than if I take a screenshot of a truly transparent canvas) Also, Erase W P took some of the black part as well, which is now a little transparent (you can see the checkerboard through it). Erase W P can be dangerous. I think a lot of people use it (or offer it as a solution) not realizing that it's really doing unintended damage. So make sure your artwork is truly B & W. Or use it with this knowledge in order to leave things with varying degrees of opacity on purpose. In Designer you can try making an artboard from a layer selection or select something > copy > File, New from Clipboard. madrian
