Joachim_L
AP opens them, text layers are preserved, smart objects also (not 100%), hidden effects in a PSD will be discarded, cutting paths (do not know the translation) have to be converted to vector masks. Maybe someone else wants to jump in with more information? Juan T
I'm asking about full compatibility status @walt.farrell. What is missing about smart objects @Joachim_L?
walt.farrell
It certainly does not have full compatibility, and there is probably no comprehensive list of everything that isn't supported. Editable text, when saving or exporting, is one important one. If you want full compatibility because you're planning to exchange PSD documents with Adobe users you should probably use Photoshop. Joachim_L
Smart object support is quite new so there can be some issues. From my experience this feature works well. Maybe some PSD experts like to join the discussion?
