Hi spacecat :)

My sincerest apologies for the delayed response, unfortunately due to the current circumstances our response time is longer than normal. We're working hard to keep on top of things, so many thanks for your patience and understanding here.

I've tried replicating this multiple times here, however each time I create a selection using the Selection Brush, then Refine the selection and with the output set to Selection, I press OK and the selection is created - in the correct location.

Could you please provide a screen recording of your workflow so I can look into this further for you?

Thanks for your document! I've been trying to replicate this and unfortunately each time the selection is in the right place, following the Refine step.

It may be happening as your Mask layer is Clipped to the empty group, rather than just sitting at the top of the stack. Could you please try moving this mask from it's current position to the top of the group, without it being clipped inside the group itself, as such -

If this still occurs after moving the mask object, could you please provide a screen recording showing the steps you're taking? Many thanks again :)

Hi,

I've tried moving the mask layer that way, but now the edit/refine/release mask options are missing and seems to be now treated as a regular layer than a mask layer (??)1625036405_Annotation2020-04-22090805.png.636cb5e79f3e63de4ec0ed4b0f02cc6b.png

@spacecat Once again please accept my sincerest apologies for the delayed response - I've been testing further with your file and I've been able to replicate the Selection output being misaligned, so I'll log this with our developers now.

When a mask is not clipped to another layer, you aren't offered the same options unfortunately, however it is a workaround for this issue, as you can separate the mask layer from other layers, then CTRL/CMD click on the thumbnail of the layer to create a selection from the mask, then you can Refine this selection without the output being misaligned.

I hope this helps!
