Distort > Mirror - How to center the mirror without going of canvas?

Recommended Posts

I was playing around with the mirror filter and really liked it. However nearly always when I found a cool pattern it's off center. Is there a way to center the mirror without getting the canvas like in my image.

Basically the problem is that the filter is moving the mirror but I would like to have the mirror static in the middle and move the picture instead.

Is there a different option I'm not aware of?

just tried a few things and unfortunately this is the only method for now, make a suggestion in the request forum. If it’s any consolation most apps behave this way, pixelmator is a pretty cool app for making patterns but behaves in a similar way when creating a pattern.
