AP 1.8.3 does not recognize NIK collection

I have AP 1.8.3. It does not recognize that I have the NIK collection. I tried going to the directory where it is located from within AP, but it does not recognize that the NIK exe file is in the directory where it is. Use of the NIK collection is critical for me. I see that others are having these problems too. If I cannot get AP to see the NIK file, this is a deal breaker. I will not even use AP for free, let alone $25. By the way, I could not find where to post this message, so I am doing it here. The layout for your forums is horrible. Where the hell do we post just simple, "I am having an issue with Affinity Photo" questions?

There are two potential places, if you have a question, you can post it in the following (second link on main forum page):

Affinity Support & Questions

If you think the problem is a bug, you can post it in here:

Report a Bug in Affinity Photo

(This is where you did post)

With regards to NIK, you mentioned NIK exe - which exe are you referring to? The plugins are the .dll files. If you add the following directory to the plugin search directory, it should work:

C:\Program Files\DxO\Nik Collection

You say, add the following directory to the plugin search directory, it should work. Where is the plugin search directory? I cannot find it. Be specific step by step. Where is it? Click this button then that button then this button and that button. Where is each button? Be specific.

I found the directory but AP does not recognize the NIK software file that is in that directory. I have uninstalled Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer. The free trial period is a waste of time. Not worth even the $25 purchase price for each program. Back to beautiful Photoshop and Illustrator. They work perfectly. Worth the hundreds of dollars per year for the subscription. Affinity = garbage.

I use Affinity on multiple machines and have used the original NiK Colleciton for years.

Work just fine on my Win10 machines with the leatest 1.8.3 build

You haven't bothered stating which version of the Nik Collection you are using or the version of the Operating System you are on.

You seem impatient.  Good luck.

I am tempted to ask: an Adobe troll???

Just to add, I have the latest NIK collection working perfectly in AP.  It is a real shame when users slander the software for doing/not doing something they think it should not/should and seem to demand they be given "special treatment" when others attempt to help (e.g. the post requiring someone to say Click this button then that button then this button and that button. Where is each button? Be specific.)

Just my opinion!  🤔

You ask for help then instantly reply and say it's garbage?

Did you try looking in the "Photoshop Plugins" section of the Preferences? All plugin related options are there.
