Hi. Really basic question here: I want to end text on a path at one point and begin a new set of text on a different part of the same path. I watched the Affinity tutorial video and it looks like this can be done, but each time I click off of the path and click back on it, the text cursor is still at the end point of my first piece of text. I can't seem to reposition it. I'm working on a Desktop Mac OS Mojave 10.14.6 with Affinity Designer 1.8.3. Thank you in advance!

For text on a path, I think that if you have 1 path, then you have 1 set of text on it.

Some ideas:

  • You could add spaces after your existing text to move further around the path.
  • You could break the path so you have two paths, which would let you have two sets of text.
  • You could duplicate the path, which would also allow you to have another set of text.

Which video was that?

We may be able to tell you what he was doing if we see the video

Thanks

What he does in that video is places separate text on each side (inside & outside) of the path then adjusts one so it looks like it is at the same level as the other one

Let us know if you still get stuck doing this

Thanks all. I did think I could duplicate the path and add new text to that. I was just curious about a more streamlined solution.

I appreciate all the help.

But he adds a third piece of text. He has one on the bottom (inside) and two on the outside at each of the upper thirds.

The "two on the outside at each of the upper thirds" is just one piece of text, spaced out with spaces inserted between the 2 words
