Gaunilo
Hello everyone! I seem to be able to only resize pictures in Publisher in increments of whole %. I can have 32 % or 33 % but not 32,3 %… What did I miss? This may seem picky but actually it is not if you want an exact crop of a picture. If someone could help, it would be great. Thanks a lot! GarryP
Do you know if it’s only showing integer percentages in the UI or if it’s always actually scaling to integer percentages? It may be scaling to 32.3% but showing you 32% in the UI. Check the Image DPI when you scale.
walt.farrell
It's rounding the % values in the UI, @GarryP. Using the Context Toolbar to do the transform, for a sample image I just placed: 600dpi shows as 50% Transforming to 50.4% gives 595dpi but still displays as 50% Transforming to 50.5% gives 594dpi and displays as 51% Transforming to 51% gives 588dpi. Gaunilo
I see, so it is really just the UI. Bit weird, as many thing with Publisher. Still, I like it. Thanks a lot!

GarryP
@Gaunilo Just out of interest, why are you resizing images by these specific and precise percentages? I don’t mean to imply that you are doing something wrong, only that there might be a better/faster/easier way to do what you want.
Gaunilo
One example is that the same image is used several times. Each time a specific part of the picture has to been shown. To be able to do this, I can either crop it in Photo several times so I have several images or use the same image and resize it to show the desired parts. Does that make sense? Unfortunatley, the parts that are to be shown are often within two percentages as the images are quite large.
GarryP
Ah, I think I see now, thanks. If you also have Designer (it’s still 50% off) you could create a Symbol from one image frame and then you only need to resize the image once for all copies, see attached video. 2020-04-05 13-14-34.mp4
Gaunilo
Thanks for the video. I wasn't aware of this possibility. Quite cool. But I need a different section of the picture each time. So, that's not it. Thanks for pointing it out anyway… new feature I have just learned.
