Vladimir Krstic
Is this a feature or a bug? 🤔 Me no like it whatsoever. While at Tool's control panel I would suggest it to be a panel on its own. Also I'd say that UI/UX is a bit dated, both visually and functionally. I'd love to see a simpler approach, out of a box, a la Sketch, XD Design, Amadine but highly modular. Designer 1.8.3. Staff Sean P Posted April 3, 2020 Staff Share Posted April 3, 2020 Hi Vladimir Krstic, This is not a bug. These buttons are now enabled for single object selections. They've always been there (albeit in a different order on the context toolbar) for multiple object selections.
Vladimir Krstic
Hey Sean, Hm, how I didn't saw it until now. 😅 Saw people complaining that alignment isn't working when single object is selected, I haven't experienced that. Still, can't wrap my head around why do we need Alignment buttons on two places? One for single, and one for multiple objects selected? 🧐

The set in the main toolbar are useful for aligning nodes since the Node Tool lacks them in its context toolbar.
Vladimir Krstic
One is excessive, no?

They are at the right hand end of the row of buttons, so not pushing other buttons out of the way on a small screen. If a user never uses the commands to align nodes, then the buttons in the main toolbar are a waste of valuable space on a small screen. Fortunately, they are easily removed from there if unwanted. Vladimir Krstic
It's not a deal-breaker, though I would love to see Designer's interface modernized and streamlined. There are a lot of inputs and buttons available at more than one place, which is a bad UX design(usually). 1 hour ago, anon2 said: If a user never uses the commands to align nodes, then the buttons in the main toolbar are a waste of valuable space on a small screen.
